At Calvary
There are only a few more weeks remaining in our verse by verse study of the book of Romans. It as been a faith building adventure, and we are sure that the final three weeks will be beneficial as well. We are also getting ready for a new sermon series entitled At Calvary. At Calvary will begin the first of June and continue for five weeks. In this study we will discuss the philosophy of ministry at Calvary Chapel Kampala, as well as teach many of the important Biblical principles we base our church on. If you are a new member of the church, or just want to know more about what is important to us at Calvary, then we encourage you to attend. If you do not live in the Kampala area, you can get the audio sermon teachings from the website at www.calvarykla.com/sermons.htm. Previous sermons and special messages are available there as well.
Passion Kampala
May 30 and 31 Calvary Chapel Kampala will join with several churches and college ministries to host the Passion world tour at Makerere University. Thousands of students are expected from all over Uganda and internationally. They will come to be a part of worship, some for the first time, with thousands of their peers. Being able to worship together in this way is part of Passion’s mission to unify Christians in their local communities and spark vision for what can happen in a city among university students when people work together for a common cause. Passion’s core scripture is
Isaiah 26:8 “Yes, in the way of Your judgments, O Lord, we have waited for You; The desire of our soul is for Your name And for the remembrance of You.”
For the event, Calvary Kampala has committed to raising two hundred volunteers. We already have one hundred and thirty confirmed, and are sure that more are willing to help out. For more information on how you can volunteer, come by the Church office during the week or get an application during the Sunday or Wednesday services. All college and university students are encouraged to attend Passion Kampala. |
