News

At Calvary Chapel Kampala we want to be led by the Holy Spirit. This is true for every area of ministry, and especially in our search for property. Lately, the leadership here at CCK has had a renewed sense of the importance of God’s leading and directing in the church. We believe that God wants the best for us, so we want to make sure that He is the One leading us. Sadly, today in many churches, if the Holy Spirit was removed they would continue “business as usual.” We want to lean so heavily upon God, that if He wasn’t here we would fail and fall. Thankfully, when we lean on Him He will never fail us!

Listen to what Chuck Smith said in the book Calvary Distinctives: “Looking at the book of Acts, I believe we see the church as God intended it to be. The model that we find in the book of Acts is a church filled with the Holy Spirit, led by the Holy Spirit, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. It was a church where the Holy Spirit was the one directing its operation and ministry.”

This month we ask you to pray for us and with us that God would give great vision and direction for CCK.

Prayer & Praise
  • Praise God for the Glow service last week at CCK. Glow is a time of worship and waiting upon the Lord in prayer. Pastor Josh taught on the presence of God, and the person of the Holy Spirit. Afterward, the believers met in small groups for prayer, as well as share prophesy and words from the Lord. Ken Nek and the worship team led us in truly inspirational worship.
  • Brian and Jill Kanyike will be back in Kampala this week. This is great news as they are an important part of the church here. Brian will be working at the church as a counselor and teacher. Jill is involved in the women’s ministry.
  • Foundations is a six week class that we have here at the church every Sunday during the third service. It is a course on the basic doctrines of the Christian faith and is  helpful for both new believers, and those who want a stronger foundation in the Word of God. Please pray for Brian Kabubi as he teaches Foundations.
  • Pray for prayer! Yes, we ask that you would pray for us that we would pray more at CCK. Every Thursday we have a prayer meeting at the church. We also have prayer in the pastor’s office on Sunday mornings before each service. Please pray that we would all pray more.
  • Passion::Kampala On May 30 - 31 worship leaders including Chris Tomlin (Indescribable) and Matt Redman (Heart of Worship) will lead a two-day conference for university students. We will provide 200 volunteers for this event. Visit www.268generation.com for more information.
  • Take a few moments to go through the Calvary Connection brochure and pray over the different activities this year.
