Calvary Connection CCK

From the recent Calvary Connection:

At the outset of his first letter to the Corinthian church, Paul mentions the fact that he has been called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ. This shows that God had an important purpose and plan for Paul’s life. The Lord didn’t save Paul so that he could just sit around and become spiritually stagnant. Instead, He desired to involve Paul in a work that would prove to satisfy his built-in desire for purpose, direction, and meaning. We must understand that this wasn’t just something special between Paul and God; the Bible tells us every Christian is called: For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10 NKJV) In this regard, as Christians we are completely different from the world around us. We enjoy a sense of purpose because we have been called by God to play a part in His grand plan. From time to time, it’s easy to lose sight of this fact. The effect is that we start to relate more to the world’s sense of emptiness than the fulfillment that God wants us to experience. When this happens, we need to remember that we’ve been called by the Lord and that our lives always have a sense of purpose, direction, and meaning. How does God’s calling affect your outlook on life? God has a plan for Calvary Chapel this year. Like Paul, discover your purpose and faithfully play your part in 2008.
