Maranatha
Chapel in San Diego California sent three pastors to Kampala this week
to spy out the land. Gary Lawton, Mark Childers, and Glenn Hirashiki
were here to see the people, visit the venues, and prayerfully prepare
for a large outdoor crusade October 2005. The Crusade will be the biggest
one that CCK has ever hosted, and several other Kampala churches will
be involved in mobilizing the Christian community. Living in the Last
Days is the theme of the crusade. “People need to get ready for
Christ’s return”, Pastor Brian of CCK said, “This
crusade is a great opportunity to let people know that Jesus loves them
and that He is coming back soon.” Pastor Ray Bentley from Maranatha
Chapel will be the keynote speaker and the event will last for six days.
For the first four nights people will gather in four of Kampala’s
larger church sanctuaries. The last two days will be the climax as people
from all over the city will gather in the downtown Nakivubo stadium.
The stadium holds 25,000 people.

Please mark
October 11-16 on your calendars and begin praying for the crusade. We
need prayer support for a great harvest of souls during this time.
Zane Mcourtney,
a teacher at CCBC Kampala, is scheduled to participate in a debate this
Saturday the 21st. He will be debating the Muslim Sheik Ibrahim Abdullah
on the deity of Jesus Christ. The venue is the Makerere University main
hall, and around five hundred people are expected to attend. Please
pray for Zane that God would give him wisdom to contend for the faith.
The womens
ministry that Jill Wienke is leading has been very successful. Every
week more women come to talk about the Lord and pray for issues in their
lives. Continue to remember this ministry in your prayers.
Remember
that David, Ernest, and Shafic are still ministering in Fort Portal!
Please continue to pray for them. Pastor Doug Calhoun and his wife Destiny
are scheduled to return in June.
