It was more
than fun and games last weekend at our latest Calvary Chapel outreach.
Around forty members of CCK loaded up on taxis—complete with sound
equipment, children ministry supplies, and a few footballs—and
headed out to the village of Mpigi. Pastor Craig Linquist led the team
with high hopes of reaching people for Christ. The event went great.
There were children’s outreach, medical ministry, dramas, sports
games, evangelism, and even the Jesus film to close out the day. At
the medical dispensary two doctors from CCK planned on treating one
hundred and fifty people, at the end of the day they had treated four
hundred! During the evangelistic message many people came to the Lord.
There were even several Muslims who made the life changing decision
to convert to Christ. It was fantastic to see the members of Calvary
Chapel getting involved and reaching out to those in need.
Every Wednesday
evening we have a Bible study and worship service at the church. It
is a time of building up as pastor Brian teaches book by book, chapter
by chapter, and verse by verse through the Old Testament. We started
in Genesis two years ago and we will be in Judges chapter nine this
Wednesday. There has been an increase in attendance as people are attracted
to the simple approach to studying God’s word.

We praise
God that Pastor Craig Linquist has found another more suitable building
than the one he was previously looking at. It is a school building that
the church will be able to use on the weekends and weekday nights. Thank
you for your prayers!
There will
be several short term mission teams coming to minister from the United
States over the next several months. Please pray for a powerful time
of ministry from each of these teams. Pray that God would open effective
doors for ministry while they are here.
Two new home
fellowships have started on Sunday nights. Pray that members of the
congregation would come out to those special times of fellowship.
We are in
need of furniture for the downstairs reception area. Pray that God provides
the money to purchase four couches, some coffee tables, and a few plants.
Jill Wienke,
who has been ministering in the Kiryindongo refugee camp in northern
Uganda, has come to Kampala to work at the church full time. She is
starting a women’s bible study this Saturday for the ladies of
CCK. Please pray for her and the ministry that she will be doing here.
Remember
that David, Ernest, and Shafic are still ministering in Fort Portal!
Please continue to pray for them.
