Pastor Josh stepped into the pulpit last week to teach the Word while Pastor Brian was away. Brian, with several other members of CCK, joined a team from Calvary Chapel La Habra to hold a conference in Kigali Rwanda. Rwanda is a country that was once troubled by genocide, but has now become a promising part of the East African Community. There is also great potential for ministry in Rwanda. That’s what the team from CCK discovered on this recent trip as they held a three day conference at a local retreat center for pastors and leaders. The turnout was wonderful. There were pastors from Uganda, Rwanda, Congo, and Burundi present. Pastor Brian and the other team members taught leadership studies from the book of Nehemiah. At the end of the conference the pastors went away with a renewed sense of their calling, and a commitment to teach the Word of God in their churches. One pastor commented that more such seminars were needed, “we are like the blind man who was touched by Jesus” he said, “we see people like trees, not as clearly as we would like…we need another touch to see more clearly.” Another “touch” of instruction from God’s Word is certainly in our plans for the future, especially since we have now seen the opportunities for ministry in Rwanda.

Praise God! The Bible College has now started a new semester of studies. There are over forty students who have enrolled, and the instructors are excited about what God has in store this semester.
