Uganda borders five different countries: Sudan, Kenya, DR Congo, Tanzania, and Rwanda. These countries, for the most part, are completely open to one another, and movement back and forth between them is quite easy. Our mission at Calvary Chapel Kampala is to impact not only our own people but all the people in the world. Jesus Himself told us to go and make disciples of all the nations, and to teach them the things that He has commanded. Discipleship usually begins at home. However, it cannot stay at home if the rest of the world is going to hear the good news. The early church began in Jerusalem, but they didn’t stay there, they went out. The pattern is given in Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."
In obedience to Christ’s command this month we “went out” to our Judea and Samaria. CCK sent out six men from the church to the nearby country of Rwanda. They joined a mission team from Calvary Chapel La Habra who had been sent from the United States to share Christ’s love here in Africa. The combined team went to minister primarily to the orphans that have been abandoned because of the Rwandan genocide. CCK and CCLH missionaries were able to comfort the children, and encourage them through the VBS children’s program, and through their warm hearts and tender smiles. The first day the group expected around three to four hundred kids to show up. To their surprise, over seven hundred children joined them for the VBS activities! By God’s grace, the mission team was able to share with them the love and hope that comes from Jesus.

Praise Report. Last monday at the church we had a country music night. To our surprise around two hundred people showed up! Pastor (and country music singer) Steve Price sang some christian country favorites and also led the people in a few worship songs. "the Spirit of God was on that place" Steve said. It was our first, but not the last, country ho-down at CCK.
Please pray for pastor Craig Linquist of CC Entebbe. He is in the United States now and has TB. Pray that he recovers soon and that he doesn't get too lonely if he has to bee in isolation for two weeks.
Pray for God's direction on church property. We have looked at over 20 different locations now but have not found the future home of CCK.
Pray that God opens up the door for us to get our own radio station. This is a vision that we have had for a long time and Far Reaching Ministries is joining with us to help make this possible. If you have any information that you feel may help us in this endeavor, or would like to get involved in this in any way please email: kampala@calvarychapel.com
