#31 - 15 July 2006

Last year Craig Linquist and a group of Bible College graduates from CCK went to Entebbe to establish a Calvary Chapel church. Pastor Craig knew from the time that he came to Uganda several years ago, that God had called him to teach the Bible and love the people. He ventured out in faith, with the church planting team from CCK, in expectation that God was going to use them for great things in Entebbe. The church plant was successful and within the first few months the church had grown to nearly one hundred people. They were also able to buy a wonderful piece of property on the shores of Lake Victoria and are in the process of developing that land for the church. Since that time CC Kampala has been in constant prayer for their sister church in Entebbe, but has not officially joined with them for any activities—until now.

Around two hundred people from Calvary Chapel Kampala boarded busses on a recent Saturday afternoon and headed down to Entebbe to enjoy a banquet and baptism with their sister church. It was a wonderful time. There was food, fun, and fellowship, followed by a time of teaching by Pastor Brian and a baptism in the lake. Forty five people were baptized that day. Those in attendance rejoiced with their brothers and sisters during the service. It was an occasion that brought us all closer to one another in true Christian love and fellowship.

Praise God that all of the people that signed up to be baptized were able to come out for the baptism service.

On the 25th of July to the 3rd of August a team from Calvary Chapel Kampala will be joining a group from Calvary Chapel La Habra (California, USA) to go down to Rwanda for a childrens program and community outreach. Here are the men going from CCK: Carlos, Zeddie, David Kizza, David Kimuli, Henry, Peter, and John

We are still looking for church property. This Sunday there were many people that attended the services. We are looking to God to provide for us as we grow.

Pray that God opens up the door for us to get our own radio station. This is a vision that we have had for a long time and Far Reaching Ministries is joining with us to help make this possible. If you have any information that you feel may help us in this endevour, or would like to get involved in this in any way please email: kampala@calvarychapel.com

Continue to pray for our sister churches in Uganda, Kenya, and Sudan: CC Nairobi, CC Fort Portal, CC Nimule, CC Jinja, CC Entebbe
