Pastor Conference

June was an exciting month as Pastor Ray Bentley, his wife, and a team from their church came to minister at Calvary Chapel Kampala. They came from Maranatha Chapel, a Calvary Chapel affiliate church in San Diego California, and their goal was to bless the people. Pastor Ray held a three day conference in Kampala with the theme: ‘Preach the Word’. The conference was open to all pastors and leaders who wanted to come, and many visited from all over East Africa. Jean Pierre, a local pastor from Burundi, made the two day trip from his home to come to the event. Jean Pierre, when asked why he came, simply replied, “I like it.” He, and other pastors like him, were blessed and encouraged by the teaching and fellowship. Over three hundred pastors and leaders came each day for conference. They left with a new vision and excitement to preach the Word.

During the pastors and leaders conference forty five of the CCK ladies joined Vicki Bentley and the women of Maranatha Chapel for a women’s retreat in the nearby town of Jinja. They enjoyed showers of blessings as the word was taught and gifts were given. Each of the women received a new Bible and a reminder to “hide the word in your heart” After the retreat there were testimonies from the ladies about how wonderful their time was.

Please pray for the direction of our church. We are looking for new property to build a larger sanctuary, and are also praying about adding an additional service at our current location as the church grows. We covet your prayers on these matters.

This weekend (July 1st) we will have a church banquet and baptism in Entebbe at the Calvary Chapel Entebbe lake front property. Please pray that those who signed up to be baptized would not be hindered in coming.

Many of you know that we have radio airtime on a large Christian radio station here in Kampala. God has now led us to start looking for our own radio station and we need your prayers to do this. Wes Bentley of Far Reaching Ministries is joining this endeavor and we would love to see “Calvary FM” started as soon as possible!

Please keep the leadership and worship team of Calvary Chapel Kampala in your prayers. Pray that we would all walk in the Spirit
