#3 - 1 April 2005

Easter service was packed full of people celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It was a Sunday of praise, prayer, and even a production put on by the CCK children’s ministry. The children had been practicing for many weeks with our children’s director Sheila Kihembo. They had put on their outfits, practiced their lines, and it had finally come time to share their joy with the church. How wonderful it was to see the children reenact the disciples, soldiers, and even a skeptical Pharisee! After the play they all gathered on stage to sing, “God’s not dead—NO!—He is alive!” to a congregation of edified adults.

The service continued with a message from Pastor Brian on remembering the resurrection. Out of II Timothy 2:8 Brian exhorted the full sanctuary of believers to remember the savior, remember the sacrifice, and remember to share the message with others. Anthony, the worship leader, closed with a heartfelt song of praise and celebration over the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

This Wednesday we had another special treat as Ed Compean, from Far Reaching Ministries, shared on the trouble in Northern Uganda. Ed, Wes Bentley, and Ken Graves had recently visited the war torn town of Kitgum. They went to see how FRM and Calvary Chapel could reach out to the thousands of hurting people affected by the LRA rebel group. Their trip was eye-opening and full of vision for the future. Ed was able to share with the church that people are needed to go and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. “Food is not the answer, clothing and medical supplies are not the answer— Jesus is the only answer for those people” Ed shared. The message was touching and over 30 people came forward declaring their willingness to go and share Christ’s love.

Prayer Requests:

• Pastor Craig Linquist is very close to getting a building for church services in Entebbe. Pray that God would give him favor with the building owners to get a fair price.
• April 9th we are having a baptism service at lake Victoria. There are about 40 people who have signed up to be baptized. We ask the Lord that He would give us a beautiful day and traveling mercies.
• Please pray for Pastors Brian Josh and Craig. Pray that God would keep them strong under their heavy work load, and that their lives would be a blessing to others.
• Remember that we have three radio programs playing every day. Keep that ministry in prayer as many people have come to the church through that outreach.
• Pray for our missionaries; David, Ernest, and Shafiq in Fort Portal. God is using them mightily!
• Other people in the fellowship are being stirred up for mission word and reaching the lost. Pray for opportunities to “Go into all the world”
