The church
was excited to see Pastor Brian and his family as they returned from
the United States. The Sunday they got back, many of the members of
CCK cheered and clapped. Some commented on how good Pastor Brian looked.
After all—he had become quite fat! The pastor and his family were
also extremely glad to be back in Uganda. “I couldn’t wait
to get back”, pastor Brian said. “Even though the United
States is nice, and it was wonderful seeing our family and friends,
I wanted to return, because my heart is here in Uganda.”

When Pastor
Brian and his family returned they found the church in wonderful condition.
The congregation had grown, and the members of CCK had a fresh excitement
for the Lord. This was due in large part to Pastors Joshua Carlson and
Craig Linquist who took on the extra responsibilities in Brian’s
absence. “We were well cared for while you were gone” one
church member commented to Pastor Brian when he returned. “Pastor
Josh and Craig did a great job.” We at CCK recognize that this
is Jesus’ church. It’s not centered around or built upon
one person—it’s built upon Jesus Christ, and we all play
our small parts in His master plan.

Urgent
prayer request: Next Thursday Uganda will be holding its presidential
and parliamentary elections. There have been fears that violence will
mar the election process, and that possible riots could occur during
and after the elections. Please pray for this time—that peace
would prevail, and that the elections would be free and fair.
Matthew Kasujja,
one of the worship leaders, and committed members of the church, is
moving to Senegal with his family. Please pray for them, that they would
find a new church home there. Also, pray for the worship team. That
the current members would have the strength and talent they need to
lead the worship for CCK.
