#16 - 15 October 2005

What a wonderful time we had at the stadium the past two nights! The crusade went better than we could have imagined thanks to your faithful prayers. For the final two days of the event we saw over 15,000 people come to enjoy the music, free Bibles, and powerful messages. On Saturday there were fears that it would rain since it had been raining quite heavily the previous week. Prayer and petition was made, however, and the Lord held back the rain from the stadium even though it was raining hard in every other part of the city!

After special music by the Sowers, Pure Souls, and others, Ray White and his team played an amazing set of worship and praise. People were jumping, shouting for joy, and dancing before the Lord. One man turned to Pastor Brian Kelly and simply said, “These guys ROCK!” When the music was over it was time for the heart of why we were there—a message about Jesus and His soon return.

Ray Bentley is pastor of a large church in Southern California called Maranatha Chapel. It was his first time in Africa, but from the message you could hardly tell that he was a newcomer. The points were right on target both nights. “Abraham came to Africa”, Ray said, “Moses came to Africa—Even Jesus came to Africa.” “God loves Africa, and God loves you here tonight” Ray continued by showing the people that we are living in the last days. His texts were Ezekiel thirty seven and Matthew twenty four. From these passages Ray clearly demonstrated that the signs of Jesus’ soon return were here, especially the re-gathering of the nation of Israel, and the frequency and intensity of earthquakes, famines, disease, and war. When the invitation for salvation was given over a thousand people responded each night. People were actually running to the front to receive the Lord. “I have never seen anything like this before” one man said, “tears came to my eyes as I say people running to accept Jesus” Truly this was a crusade like no other.

After the invitation counselors were ready to receive the new believers, and guide them in their relationship with Christ. New believer tracts were distributed and names were taken down to insure that none of the new converts would be forgotten by the local churches. We were so pleased with the way that these crusades went, and we know that for a few days in October the angels were rejoicing in heaven!

We praise God for the people who accepted the Lord through the crusades. Please pray that they would continue in their relationship with Christ, and get plugged into a local Bible teaching church.

Pray for the the visitors who came that they would have a safe and restful journey back to the United States.

Take a few moments to thank the Lord that your prayers for this crusade were answered! There were no serious problems, and the events were better than we expected or imagined.
