#15 - 1 October 2005

With one week left until the start of the crusade we ask that you continue to stand with us in fervent prayer. Preparations have been good but we have experienced some opposition. While putting up posters and banners for the event some of our Bible College students were threatened by local Muslims. As you may know this is the month of Ramadan, a holy time for Muslims around the world. Some Muslims, who would otherwise be calm and complacent, use this month to do their good deeds for Allah in hopes that he will have mercy on them. Some of these “good deeds” unfortunately are to disrupt Christian activity—including our crusade! After hundreds of the posters were installed in the city, the Muslims came tore them all down. Fortunately, we had printed a total of 10,000 posters and we are in the process of restoring the posters that have been destroyed.

Another form of opposition came as we were putting up our large banners announcing the crusade. We had received approval from the city council to place them at strategic points throughout the city. It took an entire day to install them but to our surprise, when we went to check on them, they were all taken down! The city counsel had not informed the local authorities and when they saw the banners they removed them. The good news is that we have since resolved this problem and that banners are now in place.

Stories like these occur on a daily basis. The opposition from the enemy is happening more frequently as the crusade approaches. This does not discourage us, however, because we know that God wants to do great things during this event. Whenever God is doing something big Satan will always come against it. In fact, if there were no problems or obstacles it would be a good indication that we aren’t doing anything truly effective! We are confident in God that there will be a great harvest during the crusade. Please, keep this in your prayers for the next week. Prayer is a mighty weapon that can be used on our behalf here in Uganda.

“For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.” -1 Corinthians 16:9

Will you commit this week to special prayer for the Living in the Last Days Crusade?

Please pray for the advertising posters, banners, radio announcements, TV spots, etc. that many people would be informed about the time and date of the crusade

Pray that many Christians would come and bring at least one unsaved friend or family member. Our motto is "each one bring one"

Pray for the safe arrival of the teams coming from the USA.

Pray for the sound system, for the stage and lighting, for crowd control and security, and most of all for a powerful gospel presentation.
