Baptism is an important part of the Christian faith. Jesus said that we should go out into all the world and make disciples, and part of the discipleship process is water baptism. (See: Matthew 28:19) This past Saturday around fifty people gathered at Lake Victoria for one of Calvary Chapel’s frequent baptism services. There was a fresh excitement about what was going to take place. Pastor Brian gave a message to the Baptism candidates from Colossians chapter two. He reminded them that we have died with Christ, and that baptism represents that death. “But Christ didn’t stay in the grave” Brian declared, “He has risen from the dead, and now, when you come up out of the water, you are proclaiming your new life in Him.” The people understood that when we come to Jesus our live is changed from the old to the new.

We have just started an additional service on Sunday mornings. Now congregants can come to the ten o’clock service or the new eight o’clock service. Last Sunday was the first time to hold both services and it was really exciting. There were around fifty people who came for the first service, and the second service was still as packed as ever! We are thankful that the Lord is building His church.

Please pray for the upcoming October Living in the Last Days Crusade. We are working together with other churches in the city for this event. Keep posted to the website for detail of how you can be involved in prayer.

We praise the Lord for the additional service on Sunday morning. Please pray that we would continue to be led by the Spirit.

Remember to pray for the brothers who desire to plant a church in Kitgum. Their names are: David Kalanzi, Augustine Kamya, and Godfrey. Pray that a door would be opened for them to take a trip up there soon.
