Last week three missionaries were sent out from Calvary Chapel Kampala.
They went out with a purpose—to help with the new Calvary Chapel
church plant in western Uganda. David Kalanzi, Ernest Kigundu, and
Shafiq, three eager Ugandan missionaries, are now ministering in the
town of Fort Portal. They traveled there to assist Pastor Doug Calhoon
as he was planning on returning to the States in April. Pastor Doug’s
plans changed, however, and because of complications in his wife Destinies
pregnancy, he rushed out of Uganda a few days ago to be by her side.
David Kalanzi will be overseeing the church in Fort Portal while Pastor
Doug is gone. Ernest and Shafiq will assist David and participate
in street evangelism.
“‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your
ways My ways,’ says the LORD. ‘For as the heavens are
higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My
thoughts than your thoughts.’” Isaiah 55:8-9
• Pray for Destiny Calhoon that the delivery would be smooth
and that her baby would be safe and healthy
• Pray that David, Ernest, and Shafiq would effectively and
faithfully minister in Fort Portal. Pray that God would give them
grace to run the church while Pastor Doug is gone
• Pray for Pastors Brian Kelly and Josh Carlson at Calvary Chapel
Kampala. May God refresh them as they labor, and give them grace for
the work ahead
• Pray for Pastor Craig Linquist that God would guide and direct
him to a good building to rent for church services in Entebbe Uganda.
• Pray for all of the Bible College teachers at CCK—Brian
Kelly, Josh Carlson, Craig Linquist, Anthony Yakobo, Don Ulman, Zane
McCourtney, and Eric Ceaser. Pray that they would teach clearly and
effectively with a heart of love for the students.
• Pray for the church congregation at CCK. Pray that we would
continue to grow not only in numbers, but more importantly, in depth
of love for Jesus Christ.
